Privacy Policy

What We Collect

FinePrint is designed to collect as little data as possible.

  • No user accounts. We don't require signup, email, or login.
  • No personal information stored. We don't ask for or save your name, email, or any identifying information.
  • IP address hashing. Your IP address is hashed (one-way, irreversible) and stored for 24 hours solely for rate limiting. After 24 hours, the hash is automatically deleted.

What We Do With It

  • Documents and URLs are processed in memory only and never persisted to any database or file system.
  • URLs are not logged beyond the request lifecycle. Once the analysis is returned to your browser, we retain no record of which URL was analyzed.
  • Analysis results are not stored on our servers. They exist only in your browser session.

Cookies & Analytics

  • Analytics: We use privacy-focused, cookieless analytics to understand aggregate usage patterns. No personal data is collected.
  • Essential cookies only: We do not use tracking cookies. If ads are enabled, the ad network may set cookies subject to their own privacy policy.

Third-Party Services

FinePrint uses the following third-party services:

  • Jina Reader API — for fetching publicly accessible TOS pages
  • Google Gemini API — for AI-powered analysis
  • Vercel — for hosting and edge delivery
  • Upstash Redis — for rate limiting (stores only hashed IP, no personal data)

Your Rights

Because we collect virtually no personal data, there is very little to exercise rights over. However:

  • GDPR: You have the right to access, correct, and delete your personal data. Since we only store a temporary hash of your IP for rate limiting, this data auto-deletes within 24 hours.
  • CCPA: California residents have the right to know what data is collected and to request deletion. Our data practices are described fully above.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy from time to time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated “Last updated” date.
